What a great organization, and it's already in place ready to mobilize with love, hope and healing for the nation of Japan. CRASH stands for Christian Relief, Assistance, Support and Hope. Here are two separate donation portals to donate through CRASH http://www.razoo.com/story/Help-4-Japan-Donate-Now http://tinyurl.com/relief4japan I wanted to put together some news as I'm reading it from the people who live there and are experiencing things first hand. These are their neighborhoods they are talking about. These quotes were all in my inbox this morning, and since I know just randomly bursting into tears isn't really helping these friends, I write to you. "Another big 7+ quake is predicted within the next few days. Kashiwazaki is home to the largest nuclear power plant in the WORLD. It was damaged during the July 2007 quake that centered here and is really just now getting back to operational." "The 8.9 quake that struck yesterday, according to this news story, shifted the entire island of Honshu 8 feet!" "Quakes are continuing." "...the nuclear reactor in Fukushima has had a nuclear reactor explosion." "The death toll is steadily going up. This evening they were reporting that bodies are starting to wash up from the tsunamis." "I remember not knowing where clean drinking water was going to come from (from the last quake a few years ago)." "We keep hearing news about the nuclear reactors and the news only seems to grow bleaker with each report." "Rolling blackouts..." "There is no gas in my city. There is hardly any bread in my city. No bottled water. There are no batteries. There are no flashlights to be bought in any stores. ....and I live over 200km from where the worst damage is done." "(husband) is volunteering with CRASH" "we need to go to the store to try and find milk and bread and eggs" "...the trains are on limited use" " We have a daily withdrawal limited from our American banks..." "We are also needing gasoline fuel and we need to make sure we have kerosene for the heaters." Yet, in all these things my friends there have hope! Please pray for them. Please donate if you are willing and want to help. I also have the personal information for donating to one of these families directly. I know they will be spending their personal funds in the relief efforts. And this is on top of the exchange rate of .81¢ to 100¥. Contact me for their information if you want it. I can also get info for donating to the other two families working there. Please share this with as many as you are willing. <3 Sheri email me if you need anything... sheri@iloveobento.com |
